How to Make Pizza With Leftovers

Not sure what to do with all those random leftovers in your fridge? Make them into pizza for a quick meal!

I love this simple meal idea because it allows you to be creative and individualize it for yourself and family.

Also, if you need easy pizza recipes for kids, there’s nothing easier for a kid than taking premade bread and layering on their favorite sauce, cheese, and toppings.

Pick your Bread:

I like to use a fluffy store-bought or homemade flatbread since it has a similar texture to pizza crust.

Other options you can try include:

Choose a Sauce

You can obviously use store-bought or homemade pizza sauce, or simply use your favorite pasta sauce. Marinara, Alfredo, and pesto all make great choices.

You can also be creative and try unique sauces such as:

  • BBQ
  • Peri-Peri (see pic above)
  • Sour Cream or Creme Fraiche
  • Chutney

Add Cheese

Try traditional mozzarella, or choose one of these other cheeses (or maybe even a blend of some!)

  • Cheddar
  • Monterey Jack
  • Gruyere
  • Parmesan
  • Feta
  • Muenster

Finally, Grab Toppings

I like to add whatever leftover meat and/or veggies I have in the fridge. After all, the whole point is to use them up so no food goes to waste.

For meat options, try:

  • Grilled Chicken or Sausage
  • Taco or Sloppy Joe Meat
  • Meatballs or Hamburger Patties

For vegetable options, try:

  • Sautéed Mushrooms
  • Caramelized or Grilled Onions
  • Cooked Spinach
  • Fresh Tomatoes

Time to Bake!

Actually, this quick pizza recipe requires no baking.

Simply place your pizza under a broiler or in a toaster oven and cook until the cheese melts and the toppings have heated through.

Now with all these great ideas, what bread and toppings would you pick?
